
With warmer temperatures and strong wind on the way, the National Weather Service in Topeka is warning of elevated fire risk this weekend.
The high temperature Saturday is expected to be in the low-50s, with sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph through the evening. Winds are expected to gust up to 40 mph, leading to a high risk of fire.
The high Sunday is expected to be in the mid-50s, with calmer winds of 10 to 15 mph. On Monday and Tuesday, the projected high temperature is near 60.
A chance of rain returns Tuesday and Wednesday, with a 20 percent to 30 percent chance of precipitation.
