Beginning Monday, April 20, a portion of K-15 will close for bridge replacement over Chapman Creek in Dickinson County.

The bridge, which was previously reduced to one lane controlled by signals due to findings from bridge rail inspections, is located about 4.5 miles north of the east K-15/K-18 junction.

During construction, K-15 will be closed to through traffic from K-18 to K-82. Motorists will be directed to follow the state route detour on K-18, U.S. 77 and K-82.

KDOT uses state highways for official detour routes for safety, weight and maintenance concerns.

Bridges Inc., of Newton, is the prime contractor for the $4 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in March 2027, conditions permitting.
