Geary County Rural firefighters have reponded to 18 fires so far this year compared to 10 one year ago. That included the Stone Ridge house fire and an apartment building fire at the Bluffs Apartment complex.
A bid for air packs was approved at a cost of $697,586.29. They will serve firefighters for Geary County Rural Fire, Milford and Grandview Plaza.
March 16 is the date for the annual Storm Spotter Severe Weather Training meeting at the 4-H / Senior Center.
