One of the most important things you can do for your business is find a way to stand out. That was a key message from David Rendall during a community forum hosted by Junction City Main Street at the C. L. Hoover Opera House Monday. "The best way to differentiate is intentional imperfection because imperfection is interesting."
Rendall said when you run a business you're not going to make everyone happy. He listed key factors for a successful business including flaunting, lopsiding where you do more than what everyone else is doing, witholding and micro weirding. He illustrated the latter point by pointing to a Magic Castle Hotel where popsicles, candy and ice cream are provided free to guests.
Members of the business community and local leaders attended the event.
