Eyes focus on Milford Lake

The recent Bassmaster College Bracket fishing tournament at Milford Lake drew extensive video and social media views. According to an update provided to the Junction City Commission by Rick Dykstra the livestream by bassmaster.com streamed 1.3 million minutes. They had 106,000 site visits and 470,000 page views.

Fox Sports One provided two days of coverage resulting in 913,000 viewers and a total of 290 third party media sources ran the event with a potential of 6.7 million views. There were 2.8 million social media impressions with 967,000 video views with 122,000 engagements.  Fox Sports Two showed all the reruns.

Dykstra said that every time it aired, at the beginning there  was the statement "From Milford Lake and Junction City, Kansas." Dykstra commented that he received telephone calls from as far away as Florida, California and North Carolina from people who were watching the event. He called it outstanding that the city and county received that kind of exposure.

Dykstra noted numbers cited were from Bassmaster and Fox. The competition on the lake as held Sept. 30 - Oct. 2.
