MANHATTAN - On Tuesday evening at 6:12 p.m., Manhattan Fire Department crews were called out to 913 Pierre Street on the report of a structure fire.
When crews arrived on scene they found dense smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story home.
The fire moved into the attic space and was extinguished within 30 minutes of crews arriving on scene.
Four fire companies, a Battalion Chief, and Rescue unit responded to the fire.
Firefighters rescued a cat and dog from the residence.
The building is a two-story single-family residence. Estimated loss is $60,000 in damage to the structure and $30,000 in damages to contents within the house.
The owner is listed as Georg Zsuzsics of the same address. The fire cause is under investigation at this time.
