The Junction City Commission has awarded a $1,647, 851.63 bid for the McFarland - Eisenhower roundabout to Ebert Construction. This is a KDOT project.

The cost split is 80-20 with KDOT paying 80% and the City 20%.

--In other business Tuesday night commissioners learned that there is an effort to form a new local business association. Carlena Lindsey explained it will be called the 6th Street Business Association.

There are more than 90 businesses on 6th Street from Eisenhower to Jefferson and there is no cost to join the association.

The first event will be Halloween trick or treating on Oct. 31 from 1-3 p.m.

In November there will be an effort to collect food for the animal shelter.
