A winter weather warning is in effect in Geary County from 9 p.m. Wednesday through noon Thursday, the National Weather Service in Topeka reported.

There is a 90 percent chance of snow Wednesday night and into Thursday morning with accumulation of 4 to 8 inches expected. Winds will gust to 35 mph, making travel hazardous, the NWS warned.
