Konza Prairie Community Health Center makes an impact

More than 13,000 patients received treatment in 2023 and more than 125 employees worked for Konza Prairie Community Health Center facilities in Junction City, Manhattan and Chapman. More than1 85% of the staff worked in Junction City while Konza had more than $8.8 million in salaries, wages and benefits.

Danielle Hallgren, CEO, explained that approximately 72% of their business involves dental treatment. Among some of the other services are virtual behavioral health and there is also a substance use disorder program.

Overall patient visits were up about 5% over 2022, and within the 10-county service area they come from 4o zip codes. Healthcare comes from Konza but they are also an economic engine.

A total of 54% of patient revenue was received from Medicare and Medicaid. Grant funds were also utilized. 

Hallgren provided the information in a recent annual report to the Junction City Commission.
