The 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley will host the "Year of the Warrior" kickoff event, a celebration of resilience, teamwork, and leadership within the ranks. This event will take place Friday, March 14, on the Fort Riley Confidence Course.
The purpose of “The Year of the Warrior” campaign is to highlight 1st Infantry Division Soldiers – focusing on their skills, warfighting mastery, enhanced lethality, and developing innovative leaders of the future. l
Event Schedule:
6:30 a.m. - Division Run around Custer Hill. Join us for a run as we unite to kickstart the "Year of the Warrior", to include an Apache flyover. The run will be followed immediately by an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding participants.
9:00 a.m. - Warrior Competition. Witness squads from each brigade engage in a thrilling obstacle course challenge. The competition will determine which unit possesses the most astounding warriors, showcasing their skill, determination, and camaraderie.
11:30 a.m. - Warrior Lunch. The morning will culminate with a Warrior Lunch, where we will honor the winners of the competition. The lunch will feature a ceremonial cake cutting.
1:30 pm. Division Leader Professional Development conversation on perseverance, led by COL Gadson.
