Ten Days of Christmas activities will run Nov. 26 - Dec. 5

Junction City Main Street is hosting 10 days of Christmas along with other local organizations. They begin on Friday with the Junction City Holiday Fun Run and 26th annual Christmas Parade.

Here is the lineup:

Friday, Nov. 26 -- Holiday Fun Run at 5:15 p.m. and the Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. After the parade in Heritage Park there will be the kick off for Downtown Business Christmas Decorating Competition, "The Wonderful World of Christmas, " United Way will be selling hot chocolate and candy canes and there will be ballots to begin the voting.

Saturday, Nov. 27 -- Small Business Saturday, Bingo Downtown and from 7-9 p.m. there will be the Geary County Historical Museum Festival of Trees fundraiser.

Sunday, Nov. 28 -- Christmas movies at the C. L. Hoover Opera House  where admission will be free with a Food Pantry donation. The movies are "The Christmas Story"  at 2 p.m. and "White Christmas at 6:30 p.m.."

Monday, Nov. 29 -- 3-8 p.m. Gingerbread House display at the Bartell House at the future location of SIX Restaurant.

Tuesday, Nov. 30 -- Christmas Quilt Show, Nov. 30 - Dec. 4 during store hours at Quilter's Yard.

Wednesday, Dec. 1 -- 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Firepits & S'mores by the Boy Scouts, Smoked Sausages by First Presbyterian Church, and hot chocolate by CASA in Heritage Park. 

6-6:30 p.m. Take a Walk to Bethlehem in Heritage Park

6:30 - 7 p.m. Carillon Concert and Walk Through the historic First Presbyterian Church

7 p.m. Live nativity & luminaries on the First Presbyterian Church Front Steps

Thursday, Dec. 2 -- Downtown late-night shopping

Friday, Dec. 3 -- 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Hometown Christmas

Voting begins for a Junction City mascot / statue at the Junction City Main Street booth, Visit with Santa Claus at the Bartell Senior Apartments, UD 475 art exhibit at the Bartell Senior Apartments and the Municipal Building, Hot Dogs, Santa's Mailbox, photo opportunity with The Grinch, Buddy the Elf, Christmas Carol and Santa's Sled at Exchange Bank.

At 6:30 p.m. there will be the ASTRA Christmas Show in the C.L. Hoover Opera House lobby, 7 p.m. JC Tuba Christmas show in the Opera House lobby. Cookies & Cocoa by JC Naz in the Opera House lobby, Ice Sulptures photo op downtown on 7th Street, JCLT Strolling Carolers, Free carriage rides, Story Walk Downtown JC - "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by Charles Schulz, Downtown business decorating, Competition winners are announced, United Methodist Church fundraiser including a chili supper, handbell choir, sanctuary choir music and church tour / viewing.

Saturday, Dec. 4 -- 10 a.m. - Noon Breakfast with Santa at the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library

Sunday, Dec. 5 - Holiday giving. Collection boxes will be located at all of the businesses identified on the Downtown Business Decorating Contest ballot with red lettering, I.C.A.R.E. That You Read; drop off new or used in good condition children's elementary story books with hard covers, Junction City Main Street Sharing the Warmth: drop off socks, underwear, leggings and sweat pants in sizes 4,5,6 and 7, Lighting the Way to 2022: turn your attention to the Junction City Municipal Building and Municipal Court building.
