The Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau was present at the 2021 Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.

Administrative Assistant Amanda Ravenstein has been handling a majority of CVB duties in the weeks since former CVB Director Michele Stimatze resigned.

"A lot of people were asking about hotel stays or lodging that they could do around the lake, things that they could do in the city." said Ravenstein. "[Milford Lake] was a lot of the big draw for outdoor stuff. People were asking about trails and hunting and fishing, so Milford Lake was a really big draw for us."

Ravenstein thanked the many organizations like the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce and Junction City Main Street for assisting the CVB throughout the week, stating that the volunteers played a big part in helping to spread the word about Junction City and Geary County.

"We had people from all over the state," said Ravenstein of the people who had interest in visiting the county. "We even had people come up from Oklahoma. We had people from Wichita and Hutchinson asking where Junction City was, but we also had people from Ark City really just curious what all we had to offer."

Ravenstein, the Geary County CVB, and its volunteers spoke with people throughout the entirety of the Kansas State Fair, but do not have an official number of the total amount of people they spoke with during their time at the event.
