RILEY COUNTY— A school bus was involved in a 3-vehicle accident just after 3p.m. Friday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 School bus driven by Corbin D. Montenegro, 22, Saint George, was westbound on Fort Riley Boulevard just east of Manhattan Avenue.
The driver failed to stop at the stop light. The bus struck a 2016 Ford F150 driven by David A. Darling, 47, Manhattan. The impact pushed the pickup into a 2025 Buick Envista driven by Toby M. Cook, 24, Saint George. The Buick then struck another vehicle in front of it. However, the driver of that vehicle left before the KHP arrived.
There were no injuries reported. There were no passengers on the school bus.
All three drivers and passenger in the Ford and Buick were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
