Octoberfest Volksmarch will be held in Junction City on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon. There will be a mass start time at 8:30 a.m. with the final time to begin walking set for 10 a.m. Volksmarch is a traditional German people's march."
There will be 5K or 13K walk options. The march will begin in the center of Junction City at the intersection of 7th and Washington. The 5K, 3 miles, will go to 5th Street Park and back while the 13K, 8 miles, will go to the new Junction City High School and back. The first 300 to finish will receive Volksmarch medals.
Advance online registration available in the near future will be $5 per person and in-person on Oct. 9 $10. Children 10 and under can participate free.
