The Geary County Food Pantry is pleased to announce it has been awarded $60,750 in Kansas Community Service Tax Credits through the Kansas Department of Commerce. This award provides a unique opportunity for donors to make a meaningful impact while receiving significant state tax benefits.
Through this program, individuals and businesses who make a qualifying donation to the Geary County Food Pantry will receive a 50% Kansas income tax credit for the amount contributed. For example, a $1,000 donation results in a $500 tax credit—directly reducing the donor’s Kansas tax liability.
Tax credits are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so community members are encouraged to act quickly to take advantage of this opportunity.
Anyone interested in making a donation or learning more can contact any Geary County Food Pantry Board Member or Debbie Johns, food pantry director by calling (785) 762-8830 or emailing [email protected] for details.
“This award helps ensure we can continue providing food assistance to families in need right here in Geary County,” said Julia Loper, Chairman of the Board. “We’re grateful for the support of our community and invite everyone to be part of this effort.”
