POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY—Seven people were injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Saturday in Pottawatomie County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Honda Civic driven by K Fernanda M. Koskinen, 22, St. Marys, was westbound attempting to make a southbound turn onto Airport Road from U.S. 24. The driver failed to yield and turned. An eastbound 2017 Ford Transit van driven by Galvin P. Carroll, 36, St. Marys, struck the Honda.
EMS transported Koskinen, a 15-year-old female passenger, a 12-year-old female passenger, a 14-year-old famale passenger and an 8-year-old male passenger in the Honda to Stormont Vail. EMS transported a 9-year-old female passenger in the Honda to Children's Mercy.
EMS transported a 10-year-old female passenger in the van to Wamego Health Center. Carroll and 5 other children in the van were not injured. All were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
