Work on the 2023 Junction City Street Maintenance Program has covered multiple projects and areas ranging from Shamrock, Rockledge and McClure to part of Spring Valley Road. The work consists primarily of mill and overlay work.
Ray Ibarra, Junction City Public Works Director, said so far $1.66 million has been spent. Other areas covered include in Indian Ridge Kiowa, Cheyenne and Apache, a portion of Spring Valley Road from Old 40 to Lacy Drive, and from Elmdale to K-57 leveling and overlay work.
Work is nearly finished. "We have a few things to do as far as little bit of concrete work, but other than that most of it is all completely done." The effort is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
