--The idea of a marketing campaign surfaced at a joint city-county-school district meeting this week. It could promote the community with a year long campaign.
Discussion indicated that it would need both city and county approval. JC 1st has pledged $10,000 toward the proposed effort.
There was some sentiment at the joint meeting that the Convention and Visitors Bureau should help spearhead the campaign.
--Also during the joint session at the C.L. Hoover Opera House there was discussion about a regional incinerator idea and finding a grant for it. The move could be cost saving.
--There will be a two-inch overlay on Grant Avenue that should be completed by July 4th.
--A total of $4,038,000 was recently received by the City to reconstruct the runway at the airport.
