Beginning in late July, the Kansas Department of Transportation will temporarily close ramps for the pavement replacement project on I-70 at Junction City in Geary County.
While placing the overlay on eastbound I-70 between Washington Street at exit 296 and K-57 at exit 300, eastbound ramps may be closed for a few hours at a time to allow for reconstruction of the ramp pavement. Work requiring these intermittent lane closures is expected to be completed in early August, weather permitting.
Wildcat Construction Co. Inc. and Subsidiaries, of Wichita, is the prime contractor and has scheduled all phases of this $30 million project to be completed by December 2025, weather permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
