
JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – Geary County Schools USD 475 is proud to announce that Junction City High School senior Migyelle Buentipo Ganuelas recently placed in the top 30 in the world at the 2026 HOSA's International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Ind.
Buentipo Ganuelas, who competed in Healthy Living, advanced to the finals while in Indianapolis, marking the highest finish ever for a Blue Jay under HOSA advisor Melissa Thurman. He previously captured state championship honors in the discipline at the State Leadership Conference in March.
Other Junction City High School standouts at the conference included senior and HOSA state officer Catherine Dee, who presented on the History of HOSA, as well as the Mental Health Awareness team consisting of Aniela Adjei, Alena Franquiz and Giovanna Morales Vitello.
The 50th Anniversary International Leadership Conference provided unparalleled opportunities for competition, leadership development, service and networking. Overall, 105 health-related competitive events took place in Indianapolis, featuring more than 13,907 competitors.
