The Junction Junction City Lady Jay tennis team competed in the Salina South Tennis Invitational on Thursday. The Lady Jays used a championship performance in singles by Hannah Micheel to finish as runner-up in the team standings. Micheel won all four of her singles matches to finish first in the open draw of the singles division. Julia Cho also put together an outstanding performance as she went 3-1 in the singles bracket, finishing 5th overall.
In doubles, Emma Young and Leila Etheridge started the day with a loss, but rebounded to win all three of their remaining matches, going 3-1 on the day and earning 9th place. The doubles team of Aniela Adjei and Skylor O’Sullivan were the final team to represent the Lady Jays. They went 1-3 on the day and finished 12th.
The Lady Jays next travel to Topeka on Tuesday, October 1st for the Topeka West Invitational. The matches start at 9 am and will be held at the Kossover Tennis Center.
