Junction City splits with Topeka Seaman

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — The Junction City High School basketball teams split their double header with Topeka Seaman on Tuesday night inside Shenk Gym. 

In the girl's contest, Lucy Rivera's 19 points lead the Lady Jays to a 41-37 win. The victory marked the third-straight for JCHS. It's the first time the Lady Jays have won three in a row in 10 years. 

Mellana Davis added in 15 more points for Junction City, who will next be in action on Friday when they host Manhattan.

In the Boy's game, Junction City lead for much of the first half, but a 10-0 run by the Vikings in the third quarter put them ahead and they would never look back. Seaman on 61-55.

Seth Clark lead the Blue Jays with 15 points, while Chris Dixon scored 14 and Austin Smith 13. 

Junction City's boys will also play host to Manhattan on Friday. 

The ladies will start at 6 p.n., with the boys to follow at around 7:45 p.m..
