There will be a change in the management of Stacy's Restaurant in Grandview Plaza. Owner Mary Sanders is retiring and will be leasing the business to one of her longtime waitresses Theresa Cammarn. Mary's retirement was effective Thursday.
Mary and her late husband, Stacy, acquired the operation in 1969. Now 57 years later Mary, 91, is ready to step down. She will continue to live in Grandview Plaza and visit the resaurant. Mary calls her time, "A labor of love."

Theresa expressed a desire for Mary to visit often and stated, "I hope to see the community here." No major changes are planned for the restaurant, which includes a full breakfast and lunch service ranging from top seller biscuits and gravy to chicken fried steak. All employees will be retained.
On Thursday Sanders reflected back over the years, remembering in addition to the community the organizations who held meetings at Stacy's such as the Optimists, Kiwanis and 4-H Extension, Fort Riley residents who frequented the establishment, travelers off of the insterstate and just simply the people. "There are a lot of good memories, a lot of wonderful people."
Mary also raised her three daughters and served 10 years on the Grandview Plaza City Council. "I love the community."
