County Commision appears agreeable to new jail security cameras

Final approval is not expected until Oct. 27 but Geary County Commissioners have expressed preliminary agreement with a proposal to added some new security cameras in the older addition of the county jail. The cameras would cost a total of $103,000 and feed into a control room where they could be monitored.

This would be a safety improvement.

Sheriff Nate Boeckman and Jordon Smith of INA Alert Technology Products met wih the governing body on the issue. Final approval on Oct. 27 is due as part of a county process.
