The weekend is expected to bring several chances of welcome moisture to the Flint Hills, the National Weather Service in Topeka said.
There is a 20 percent to 30 percent chance of rain beginning Thursday night and lasting into Monday — when that rain could turn into a wintry mix.
Winds will remain calmer, sustained at 5 to 10 mph through the weekend.
Daytime highs Friday through Sunday are expected to be in the upper-40s to mid-50s, with overnight lows right around the freezing point.
