MANHATTAN/JUNCTION CITY - On Thursday, May 30, the Special Olympics 'Flame of Hope' Law Enforcement Torch Run travelled through Pottawatomie, Riley and Geary counties on its way to Wichita for the State Summer Games being held this weekend.

Members of the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office met with Riley County Police Department members at the Pottawatomie/Riley county line to hand off the torch.

RCPD then met up with Special Olympics athletes at the Ogden Community Center and ran to the Ogden Gate, where they handed off the torch to Fort Riley soldiers.

Fort Riley soldiers met Junction City Pacesetters Special Olympics athletes, members of the Junction City Police Department and the Geary County Sheriff's Office just outside the Grant Avenue gates.

Then the Junction City Pacesetters, JCPD and GCSO members ran through Junction City to Heritage Park for a final group photo.
