There will be a different route for the 29th annual Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade on Nov. 29.
The staging area for the parade will be the parking lot of Konza Prairie Community Health Center on Grant Ave. The parade will proceed from Grant Ave. to North Washington Street. From there it will go south and end at 6th & Washington. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m.
A check with the Chamber of Commerce revealed the parking area used for staging in the past on the site of the former Junction City High School will not be available. That location is under construction for the new USD 475 Early Childhood Center. There is also construction currently under way on West 6th Street where past parades traveled, but that work is expected to be completed by the end of November.
