Eisenhower Presidential Library release
Abilene, Kan. - The public is invited to join the Eisenhower Presidential Library's October Lunch & Learn scheduled for Thursday, October 26, at noon central time via YouTube Livestream.
Joining remotely for this program is Christopher Coes with the U.S. Department of Transportation. This lecture will explore the difficult decisions of where to build interstates, both past and present. The discussion will examine the impact of these decisions on historically marginalized communities and the country more broadly. Additionally, Coes will explore how the current approach to the interstate system is changing as they plan for a more resilient, sustainable, and prosperous future for everyone.
Christopher A. Coes was sworn in as Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy on May 26, 2022. In this role, he is responsible for recommending overall surface transportation policy initiatives.
