Geary County Sheriff's Deputies responded to U.S. 77, mile marker 164, at 8:11 p.m. Friday for a single vehicle accident with a deer. The Sheriff's Department said William Ritter, Herington, was southbound in a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and there were no injuries reported.

Deputies responded at 8:02 a.m. Friday to U.S. 77, mile marker 156 for a non-injury accident. William Gentry, Junction City, was traveling north in a 2014 Ford Focus when traffic began to slow down and the vehicle hit the rear end of a 2019 Kia Forte driven by Liz Roldan, Junction City. Both vehicles were removed by the drivers.
