There is a plan being formulated to help Geary Community Hospital deal with the financial challenges facing that facility. The new Interim CEO at GCH, Margaret Grismer, told the members of the Geary County Commission on Monday that her number one goal is to make the hospital survive and thrive.
"There is a transition visioning group, that we have two more Wednesday's to be a part of, and that we hope to by the end of Feb. 16th, have a clear vision to move forward so that I can lead." Grismer added that they have to know what the vision is in order to lead in that direction.
Grismer stated that BKD has been engaged to do margin improvement assessment and work along with her for implementation. Referring to the organization chart for the hospital, Grismer noted that there is a middle manager group. "They are gone or leading, and so that's going to pose an additional challenge to this whole thing."
