Geary County officials conducted a pair of public hearings Monday on the county's 2025 budget. The spending plan for next year would require 16,623, 893 in tax funds with a property tax levy of 54.657 mills. That's a decrease of $10,000 less in tax revenue than the amount budgeted in 2024.
The 2025 general fund budget has been approved by the county commission. Library, sewer district four, water district two and rural fire district budgets will be considered for approval next Monday.
