Heritage Park will be the location for the annual Summer Block Party hosted by the Junction City Police Department this Saturday night ( Sept. 20 ). The event is scheduled from 5-8 p.m.
Officer Jay Wigton noted that police love having the community come out and enjoy the good times with the officers. There will be free food, entertainment, inflatables for the kids, a foam fan party, inflatable archery and a child seat lane. There will be a Zumba class, K-9, Taser and SWAT demonstrations and a car show.
Wigton explained to the public that law enforcement "wants to let them know we're parents, we have children of our own." It's a time to see and visit with law enforcement.
Food items will range from sausages to pizzas. The food will be served from 5-8 p.m. or until the supply runs out.
