The Geary County Historical Society will be opening a new exhibit, titled "A Portrait of Geary County," in 2026 and they are seeking local stories to include in this photo-based exhibition.
Society Director Heather Hagedorn said that the goal for this exhibit is to tell the "small" stories. the everyday stories. and the previously untold stories. This could include: soldiers only stationed here for two years, or life long Geary County farmers; big boastful lives, or small quiet lives; adventurers and homemakers. No matter how big or small the stories are, they are all an important part of Geary County history.
