Heat index values of up to 110 are expected for portions of central, east central, north central and northeast Kansas through 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses like cramps, exhaustion and heat stroke to occur. Overnight lows are not expected to provide much relief with temperatures only briefly falling into the upper 70s around dawn. The Heat Advisory may be extended or upgraded to a Heat Warning in the coming days as the stretch of hot and humid conditions may continue through the end of the week.
