
Junction City, KS — Junction City Main Street was recognized at the Kansas Main Street Awards held in Topeka on March 16th, highlighting the organization’s continued impact and progress in downtown revitalization.
Executive Director Jordan McCann attended the event alongside Past President Sheila Markley, President Terry Butler, Secretary Patti Noriega, Board Member Matt Hoover, and State Representative Nate Butler.
During the ceremony, Lt. Governor David Toland emphasized the vital role Main Street programs play in strengthening communities across Kansas. Junction City Main Street was honored with the Ad Astra designation, recognizing excellence in accreditation standards. The organization was also acknowledged as a participant in the Equitable Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Community Pilot Program through Main Street America.
In addition to program recognition, downtown business Highwind Brewing Company received the award for Best Historic Rehabilitation of the Year, showcasing the ongoing investment and preservation efforts within Junction City’s historic district.
“Downtown revitalization takes an entire community,” said Executive Director Jordan McCann. “This recognition reflects the collective effort of our board, volunteers, business owners, partners, and supporters who continue to invest in the success of our downtown.”
