RILEY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 8a.m. Friday in Manhattan.
According to the Riley County Police Department activity report, a 2010 Honda Element, driven by Spencer Lawson, 42, of Manhattan, struck a pedestrian identified as Cheryl Caldwall, 68, of Manhattan, while she was using the crosswalk within the on-ramp at Anderson Avenue and Seth Child Road.
Caldwell was transported to KU Med in Kansas City for serious injuries. This accident remains under investigation. The RCPD released no additional details.
