Riley County EMS Director David Adams spoke at the ribbon-cutting and expressed his gratitude for everyone who made the project happen."This is a great day for Riley County and for our department," Adams said. "I want to thank the citizens of Riley County. Your belief in us allowed for strong support in this endeavor; we will make you proud."

Commissioner McKinley spoke about the need for a new building and complimented BHS on the construction of the project. "This is a great facility, and as mentioned, BHS did a great job," McKinley said. "Happy to be here."

Commissioner Ford also noted the new facility was many years in the making. Ford looks forward to the facility being an inspiration to other locations when they need to build something new. "I can drive by this facility for many, many years to come and know that we did something well and did something right for our citizens in this community," Ford said.

The project started back in April of 2024 and was designed by Archimages, Inc. of Lenexa and overseen by BHS Construction of Manhattan. The $11.7 million project was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act allocations.

The new facility is located at 1115 Charles Little Road in Manhattan.
