  Betty June Walters, 86, of Milford, Kansas died on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wakefield, Kansas. Cremation will take place. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Johnson and Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Alzheimer's Association. June was born December 2, 1937 in Shelbina, Missouri the daughter of Carl and Louise (Painter) Howell. June graduated from Shelbina High School. After high school, she completed course work at a secretarial school. She was a United States Civil Servant for many years having retired at Fort Riley, Kansas. June was a member of The Retired Enlisted Association Women's Auxiliary. She was involved with First United Methodist Church in Junction City, Kansas.

June enjoyed square dancing, going to bingo, playing cards with family and friends, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.  In July of 1960, she married LeRoy Walters. He died in January of 2023.She is survived by her children, Jenny (Steve) of Junction City, Kansas, Ruth (Dennis) of Jay, Oklahoma and Cindy (Vernon) of Manhattan, Kansas; five grandchildren; Austin, Jesse, Michael, Christopher, Ashley and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy and one brother, Estil.
