Geary County Society will host their annual Ice Cream Social and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the organization this Sunday. The event is scheduled from 3-6 p.m. on the grounds of the Historical Museum at 530 N. Adams.
Food will be served from 3-6 p.m. ranging from ice cream and pie to hot dogs and hamburgers. The Paint Barn will do face painting during the event. The Kansas Brigade Band will perform at 3 p.m. followed by the JCHS Jazz and Orchestra at 4 and 5 p.m. respectively.
There will be an extreme cake walk at 4 p.m. at a cost of $1 per game, and raffle tickets will be sold to win a chance to pie a county commissioner at 5 p.m. The Ice Cream Social is being sponsored by Dillons and Smithfield Food.
