Games, band performances, food and just reuniting with old friends were all part of the Back to School Carnival at Junction City High School Thursday evening. The event was held at Blue Jay Stadium a few days ahead of the new school year.
Dr. Reginald Eggleston, USD 475 Superintendent of Schools, was there. "It ushers in the new year, as you can see we have a lot of people here, a lot of excitement in the air. Just gives everyone a chance to let their hair down and have a good time."

This has been band camp week for the Junction City High School Marching Band. Director Jared Morris said they're excited about the show design for this fall when they will perform at football games and in festivals. "We're going to be doing a lot of new types of visuals that incorporate dance for the band members. It's going to look different than what our audience is used to seeing. It's going to be a lot of fun but our students are very excited about it."

The first day of school for students at JCHS will be either Aug. 16th or 17th, depending on whether you are a new or returning student.
