Anthony Wayne Ockomon, 70, passed away May 7, 2025 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
Tony was born to Espa and Anna Ockomon on January 29, 1955 in Winchester, Ky. Espa (aka Bob) and Mary were married when Tony was about three years old and raised him in a Godly manner.
He joined the Army in February of 1974. While in Germany, on his second tour, he met and on March 7, 1980 married the love of his life Dawn Danette Kumm. They have one daughter.
He was medically discharged after 17 years, 11 months after serving four tours in Germany – two in Pirmasens and two in Landstuhl.
Tony loved to fish and hunt always eating what he caught or killed.
He was known to say, “But God,” whenever the opportunity arose. He lived by Psalm 23, verse 4 – ‘Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil ...’ because he knew life was about the journey, not the destination.
He loved God and His Son, Jesus passionately. He joined the Christian Motorcycle Association to give him more opportunities to tell people about God. He was also a member of the Earl C. Gormley American Legion Post 45, American Legion Riders Chapter 45, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 830, all of Junction City.
Tony is survived by his wife of 45 years Dawn (Kumm) Ockomon, daughter Mandy Ockomon, and two grandchildren - Tristin Nelson Ockomon-Trajillo and Maya Faith Harlen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Espa (Bob) and Mary, and two siblings Charlette and Roger.
