Vendors, activities, contests, entertainment will all be part of the Oktoberfest in downtown Junction City Friday and Saturday. Coordinator Justin Hoover said it will be like a big backyard party, "with tents down the middle of main street and great entertainment."
Hoover said there was one schnitzel vendor last year, but there will be three this time. Bierocks and brats will be for sale along with barbecue and desserts. There will also be merchant vendors.
In the entertainment category Brass Rewind will return from a year ago. "They're kind of a 70's, 80's, 90's band. The All Stars from Kansas City and the 1st Infantry Division band will be performing and there'll also be polka bands.
The site for the festival will be between 6th and 9th Street on Washington Street. Organizers are expecting several thousand people to attend the event.
