Manhattan— Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire at a home in Manhattan.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday,  the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at a home at 1310 Fremont Street, according to Deputy Fire Chief Ryan Almes.

Upon arrival, crews found a large single-family home with fire showing from the rear.

The fire reached a second alarm before it was contained in just over 10 minutes.

The occupants were home at the time of the fire and were able to exit the structure prior to the fire department's arrival.  Crews were able to locate and remove an uninjured dog in the home.  No injuries were reported.

The building is a 2 1/2 story single-family residence.   Loss is estimated at $30,000 to contents and $50,000 to the structure. The owners are listed as James and Patricia Smith of the same address. The house next door located at 1314 Fremont Street had an estimated $1000 damage to the exterior from the fire.
