Koerwitz, 89 died May 12, 2024, in Columbus, GA. &nbsp;He was born on July 4, 1934, in Deshler, Nebraska, the son of Friedrich and Irene (Hansen) Koerwitz.&nbsp; Verdell married Janice Laflin of Clay Center. &nbsp;He served over 26 years in the US Army, seeing action in both the Korean and Vietnam wars.&nbsp; Verdell and Janice have made their home in Shiloh, GA for many years.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents.&nbsp;&nbsp;A full obituary will be published later
