On Monday, October. 17, the American Legion Post #45 Riders Chapter and others will be escorting the remains of Seaman Second Class Pete Turk to his final resting place. Turk died the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, on the USS California in Pearl Harbor.
Riders will line up at 9:30 am behind Post #45 with the funeral home meeting them just after 10 am. The public can come out to the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Riley to welcome this Sailor home after 81 years and to Honor him at his final resting place.
After interment American Legion Post #45 invites the public for a reception at 201 E. 4th St. Junction City.
