JC Breakfast Optimists Club
Tracy Geisler, Executive Director of the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation, shared information about the Foundation at the JC Breakfast Optimist Club meeting on April 1 in the Hampton Inn Meeting Room. She stated that the mission of the Foundation is “to assist in providing the Healthcare needs for Geary County by raising funds to support medical necessities, improving mental health initiatives, scholarships and other essential needs for our community.”
Tracy also told the Optimists that “The foundation is a 501 C3 not-for-profit organization, which was founded in 1987. Since its beginning, the Foundation has raised over $8 million, supporting the Geary Community Hospital, Children’s Mercy, Geary County USD 475 Schools, Stormont Vail, Konza Prairie Community Health, Delivering Change, Junction City Police and Fire Departments, Ambulances/rescue vehicles, Geary County Food Pantry, Scholarships, and various healthcare needs in Geary County. All funds raised and distributed stay in Geary County.”
Funds raised in 2025 came from events including the Boots and Buckles; Golf Tournament; Match Day and the Glitz Gala. In 2026 events will include the Fall Classic Golf Tournament on September 18; Match Day on October 18 and Puttin’ on the Glitz on December 12.
