There are 313 children spread through 23 classrooms in the new Early Childhood Center in USD 475. More staff are needed for the 10 remaining classrooms.

That information was conveyed to the Board of Education Thursday evening.

The school year has gotten off to a good start for the HD Karns students. They are now attending classes at the former Grandview Elementary building. Eighty-seven students are enrolled.&nbsp;

There is a plan to select a mascot for the school.

Food service is down in the Dstrict 229 students from last year but 250 more lunches have been served than a year ago at this time.

The BOE has given approval for an assistant girls golf coach position at JCHS. There are 16 girls out for golf at the high school, which is up.
