Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division will host Military Retiree Appreciation Day Oct. 3 at Riley’s Community Center, 446 Seitz Dr.
Military retirees of all services, plus widows and widowers of retirees, are encouraged to attend the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with registration open at 8:00. Throughout the day retirees will receive the latest information on TRICARE, Medicare, hospital services and other health care issues, veterans’ affairs, legislative issues, casualty affairs, long term care insurance, and many other topics of interest to military retirees.
Multiple veteran service organizations will be on hand to provide information to attendees. Retirees will also have the opportunity to update their identification cards at the ID card office, 210 Custer Ave. The public health team from Irwin Army Community Hospital plans to provide influenza vaccinations from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
