Seven west side Junction City home properties were up for proposed annexation into the city Tuesday night but after hearing opposition and concerns from property owners the Junction City commission took no formal action on the ordinances, meaning the annexation proposals did not gain approval. Among the concerns were property owners already paying for years for city services that they did not receive. The entire problem dates back many years.
Comments from commissioners ranged from years ago the city ran out of money but now that there are funds corrections can be made, to doing the moral and lawful thing, to putting together a plan to go forward to extend utilities promised 20 years ago.
The properties involved included locations at 2707 Liberty Hall Road. 2701 Liberty Hall Road, 506 South Spring Valley Road, 604 North Spring Valley Road, 224 North Spring Valley Road, 2623Liberty Hall Road. 2508 and Glenn Dean Road.
