State Senator Jeff Longbine will chair dual committees in the 2021 Kansas legislative session including the Financial Institution and Insurance Committees.
Longbine said in a newsletter that over the next few weeks the committees will consider legislation related to insurance, banking and economic recovery. First up on the agenda is a bill that would create a low-interest loan program for small businesses and ag producers.
This is a program that Governor Kelly vetoed last session, but Longbine is hopeful that she will reconsider that action so low-cost financing can be made accessible to local business owners as they navigate the economic impact of the pandemic.
